CUFC U12B Girls are League & Cup Champions for 2018-19 Season   24/06/2019

The Craughwell United U12B girls' team had a phenomenal season, winning ten straight league matches and drawing once, a mighty recovery after losing their first match of the season last August to finish top of the Galway FA U12 Division One League.

The girls won the U12 Division One Cup Final in February after a hard fought Cup run culminating in a nail biting penalty shootout against a strong Maree/Oranmore side in Eamonn Deacy Park.

The girls showed massive fortitude and commitment through the entire match, and then extra time to bring the match to penalties. There was outstanding performances from the whole team in particular Katie Murray, Lillian Walsh, Kelly Hallinan, Rebecca Walsh, Lauren Morgan and Chloe Keane. Special mention has to go to team captain Katelyn Walsh who showing massive commitment and skill in midfield and at match end, stepped forward to take and score the first penalty and then donned the goalie jersey to save two of the Oranmore penalties to bestow victory on an ecstatic Craughwell team, well done girls one and all.
