Club results from weekend of 21-22 January   23/01/2017

Both U12 boys teams were out of luck last Saturday with the U12A team losing 2-1 at home to Maree/Oranmore B while Andrew Power was on target for the U12B boys in their 6-1 defeat away to Kilshanvey United.

On Sunday, the U16 boys lost 2-0 away to West Coast United in their Championship Cup match while the U18 boys also exited their Championship Cup with a 5-1 loss to MacDara in Carraroe. Callum Reddington had opened the scoring with his first goal for Craughwell. The U13 boys were emphatic Premier League winners over Knocknacarra at Coleman Park with Kieran O Connor netting a five timer, Niall Dillon and Michael Trehy with two each and Darragh McCartin and Dara Collins completing the scoring.

Elsewhere, the U16 girls lost 5-0 away to Corrib Celtic while the U12 girl’s navy team lost 3-1 away to Cregmore/Claregalway FC. The U12 girls blue team lost by the only goal to neighbours Colga in the GFA Divison 1 Cup. In a hard fought game where both defences and midfields battled hard throughout, Craughwell had some fine performances from goalkeeper Ellie Brennan, Rebecca Cloonan, Grace Keaveney, Chloe Hallinan and Abbie Molloy. Were it not for some excellent Colga defending, Ashling Whyte or Tara Morgan could easily have had Craughwell in front. However, a goal in the dying minutes was enough to see Colga through to the next round even though the Craughwell girls did fight bravely to the end.
