Club results from weekend of 9-10 May   11/05/2015

After their Connacht Shield Final heartbreak on the previous weekend, the U12A boys endured more disappointment last Saturday when their 3-3 draw away to Corofin was not enough to claim the Championship league title. Needing a win, United went in front twice through Ross Whelton and Lewis Ryan only for Corofin to fight back into a 3-2 lead. Conor Hynes then levelled for Craughwell and even though United hit the woodwork twice, they came up just short. Nevertheless, a great season for the whole U12 squad.

The U18B boys finished their season on a high with a 5-4 home win over Corofin. Goals from Malachai MacCormaic, Evan O Brien, William Finnerty and two from Cole Connolly meant that they finished second in League Division 2.

Elsewhere, the U12B girls (pictured) ran out 2-1 winners away to Athenry C last Sunday. Keisha Coleman scored midway through a competitive first half when strong defending was needed to keep the home side at bay.  Early in the second half, Coleman added her second and even though Athenry forced a late goal, United held on for the win. New Craughwell goalkeeper Niamh Davey was well protected by defenders Chloe Glynn, Emma Jane Moran, Alex Slamas and Kayla Maloney.  Strong midfield performances from Emma Malone, Saoirse Pierce, Laoise Bond, Emily Miskella, Molly Sullivan and player of the match Veronica Creaven.  Up front  Keisha Coleman showed great presence to score both goals, ably supported by Edel Farrelly and Keira Davey.
