In league action last Sunday, the U16 girls registered their first league win with an emphatic 9-0 win in Oughterard. Laura Cunningham scored five with Tara Farrell (2), Aoife Raftery and Shauna Tobin completing the scoring.

The U12A girls (pictured) played an entertaining match away to neighbours Colga but were defeated 3-2 last Saturday. Hard working defence between Aoife O Connor, Emma Jane Moran and Molly Sullivan had held Colga to one goal by half time, but the home side went three up before Unitedâs player of the match Laoise Bond got one back. Strong midfield work from Ava Finn, Chloe Glynn and Emily Miskella made for a really tight finish but even though Miskella pulled another goal back, time ran out for Craughwell.

The U12B girls got off to a great start in their first game of the season with a 3-0 win over Cregmore/ Claregalway C. Very solid back three of Veronica Craven, Alex Slamas and Aoife Nevin never gave an inch. Strong midfield of Emma Malone, Saoirse Pierce and Niamh Davey dominated â Emma was player of the match. Our forwards Kayla Maloney and Kira Davey worked tirelessly. Kira scored first, Emma made sure we were two up by half time, Emma got the goal of the game half way through the second half. Great defence at the end ensured that nothing was conceded despite several corners & lots of pressure.
