Club results (boys) from weekend of 14-15 March   16/03/2015

Both the U12 boys and U18 boys won through to Connacht Shield Finals after victories at Coleman Park last weekend. Two goals from Cillian McDaid (pictured) meant that the U18 boys were taken to extra time by Knocknacarra after the game finished 2-2, but Aaron Brereton was the home hero when grabbing the extra time winner. The U12 boys played solid football throughout their match with St Bernards and it was enough to give them a resounding 4-0 win. The United goalscorers were Shaun Gilligan (2), Liam Mulveen and Sean Joyce.

In league action, the U18B boys lost 3-0 in Headford to runaway league leaders Moyne Villa B while the U16 boys went joint top of the Championship League with a comprehensive 5-1 away win over Kinvara United. Cillian Dolan was in great form, scoring a hatrick which included a great strike on the turn from twenty five yards out. Eoin Fahy had opened the scoring after only five minutes and Jack Lally also scored from another long range beauty. Three home wins in their final three league matches would give them an outstanding chance of clinching the League Championship.

The U14 boys lost a close encounter 3-2 away to Mervue United B with the Craughwell goals coming from Vincent Boyle and Evan Kelly and both assisted by Darragh O Connor. Craughwell were twice denied by the woodwork and certainly were unlucky not to come away with some points.

The U12B boys returned to form after recent defeats with a 6-0 home win over Bearna Na Forbacha B. The United goals came from Thomas Barlow (2), Niall Kennedy (2), Nathan McCormack and Jack Gilligan.
