Club results from weekend of 14-15 February   16/02/2015

The U12A boys rallied from two goals down to overcome Moyne Villa 4-3 in an entertaining match at Coleman Park last Saturday. Villa went one up early on but Liam Mulveen (pictured) equalised for United with a headed corner. Craughwell continued to dominate possession but two more Villa goals gave the visitors a 3-1 lead at the break. Craughwell exerted more pressure on the restart as Lewis Ryan and Sean Joyce both came close, but Villa's goalkeeper was having a great day between the posts. The match began to swing to the home side with Mulveen putting Shaun Gilligan down the left wing and he in turn found Conor Hynes to score. With ten minutes left, Mulveen broke from midfield and hit a low shot into the corner to level the match at 3-3. Craughwell pushed for the winner and with only minutes left, another Gilligan run and square ball left Sean Joyce with a tap in for the winning goal. This important win leaves United in pole position with four league games remaining

The U16 boys bounced back after two recent reversals when defeating Moyne Villa 4-2 in Headford. The home side took the early lead when a long range strike caught out United keeper Kyle Heverin to dip under the bar. Craughwell soon took the upper hand but it was early in the second half when the pressure finally yielded a goal for Jonathan Boland. Two more goals from Oisin Woodlock and Eoin Fahy gave United a cushion but Villa responded when finishing the rebound from a free kick for 3-2. United keeper Heverin made a great save from the advancing striker to save United, however, striker Ronan Nevin sealed the win with the last kick of the game. Craughwell’s wide men Boland and Woodlock were outstanding on the day.

The U18A boys lost 3-1 away to Premier League leaders Galway Hibs with Cillian McDaid scoring United's goal from a twenty five yard free kick while the U14 boys suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Renmore. Also on Sunday, the U12 girls lost their opening league match 2-0 away to city side Corrib Rangers.
