Club results (girls) from weekend of 7-8 February   11/02/2015

The U14 girls had a good 4-0 win over Moyne Villa in Headford on Sunday afternoon. Craughwell started strongly with good passing leading to a Tara Stephens goal early in the first half. Villa settled into the game and the Craughwell girls found it hard to break down their defence for the rest of the half. Jane Trehy came close with a low driving shot as did Tara Farrell with a great header from a pinpoint Caoimhe Allen corner. In the second half, United contined to play good passing football and started to break down the Villa defence which led to goals from Jane Trehy, Sarah Woods and Sarah McCartin. The Craughwell defence was very efficient all day with great goalkeeping from Siobhan Creaven when it was needed.

The U18 girls started their Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw away to Corrib Rangers. Laura Cunningham went close with a couple of early chances and while both Grainne McDaid and Caoimhe Reidy stretched the home defence with their pace all day, the all important goal never materialised.

At the school astro pitch on Sunday afternoon, the U10 girls competed well before losing 5-1 to Salthill Devon in their opening Premier League match.
