Club results from weekend of 29-30 November   01/12/2014

The U18 boys bowed out of the FAI Umbro Cup 5-4 on penalties last Saturday away to Mayo side Conn Rangers. Craughwell were two up at half time with goals from Dara Cunney and Daragh Gilligan but the home side scored two late second half goals and neither team could find the winner in extra time.

The U16 boys were also out of luck, going down 4-2 away to Salthill Devon B in Drom. Two goals from Cillian Dolan (pictured) had brought United back to 2-3 at half time but even after continuous Craughwell pressure in the second half, it was Salthill who got the vital goal near the end to seal the win. The loss still leaves United joint top of the Championship League table at the midway stage.

The U14 boys played out a very entertaining 3-3 draw away to Tuam Celtic. United found themselves two down after twenty minutes but fought back with goals from Sean Connaughton and Darragh O'Connor just before half time to level matters. Plenty of chances for both teams in the second half until Craughwell took the lead through a Sean Connaughton penalty after Adam Cunney was taken down. Tuam scrambled an equaliser with three minutes to go. A good point for Craughwell but slightly disappointing not to have taken all three points after being denied a strong penalty claim in the last minute. Craughwell remain unbeaten and just one point behind leaders Renmore in the League Championship.

The U12A boys had a hard fought 2-1 home win over Corrib Celtic to stay top of the League Championship with both goals scored by Lewis Ryan. The U12B boys lost out 4-1 away to Knocknacarra B with Jack Gilligan netting the sole United goal.

The U16 girls suffered their second straight 1-0 defeat away from home, this time to Moyne Villa in Headford.
