Club results from weekend of 4-5 October   06/10/2014

After two opening draws, the U16 boys registered their first league win this season with a hard earned 2-1 away win over Tuam Celtic. Craughwell meant business from the start and two excellent strikes from Ronan Nevin had United two up after only five minutes. Celtic got one back immediately but with stand-in keeper Jack Doran doing a great job until half time along with regular keeper Kyle Heverin after the break, Craughwell were able to hold their lead for the remainder of the match.

The U14 boys followed up last week’s defeat of Renmore with a fine 2-0 win away to Kinvara United. Two early goals from Joseph Jackson and Darragh O Connor put United in command and brave defending in the second half against the elements secured the win.

Both U12 teams continued with their unbeaten runs last Saturday morning. The U12A team (pictured) went 1-0 up against Renmore when Sean Joyce finished off an excellent through ball from Liam Mulveen and further second half goals from Joyce, Mulveen and two from Ross Whelton sealed the 5-0 win. The U12B team went joint top of Division 3 with a good 2-1 away win over Oughterard B. Jack Gilligan and Nathan McCormack were on the scoresheet for United.
