Results round-up from 5-6 April weekend   07/04/2014

Craughwell’s U12A boys welcomed Maree/Oranmore to Coleman Park last Thursday evening for their Premier Division match. United had a great start when in the first minute Kevin Molloy converted a free kick after a foul on Glenn Lawlor Smalle (pictured) and ten minutes later, Lawlor Smalle himself made it 2-0 when he blasted the ball home from close range. Oranmore then got their game together and got one back to leave it 2-1 at half time. After the break, Craughwell started making changes and everyone gelled together to hold the very determined visitors at bay. United had plenty of chances to kill the game until with only two minutes left,  super-sub Jack Walsh secured the game for Craughwell with his first goal of the season. Pure determination is the only way to describe it as Jack got the ball and burst his way through two defenders before neatly slotting the ball into the right corner of the net. Another great team effort.

Last Saturday, The U10B girls drew 0-0 away to Mervue United B while the U12B boys were 2-0 winners at home to Cois Fharraige.

On Sunday, the U17 girls lost by the only goal at home to league leaders Moyne Villa while the U12 girl’s ‘Red’ team lost 4-1 away to Salthill Devon A. The U12 girls ‘Green’ and Blue’ teams played each other in an entertaining match with the ‘Blue’ team getting the upper hand on a 4-1 scoreline.
