Our senior men's team got the better of Sligo side Cliffoney Celtic 2-1 in an entertaining third round Connacht Cup tie at Coleman Park last weekend. Mark Cunningham put Craughwell ahead on five minutes by scoring directly from a left inswinging corner. Fifteen minutes later, Kevin Molloy found Darragh O'Connor with a sublime through ball and the midfielder finished coolly to double the lead. Craughwell were well on top in the first half and missed several clearcut chances to extend their lead. However, Celtic responded before the break when their speedy number nine shot clear to score in the corner. The second half was a more even battle while United continued to let several scoring chances slip by. Cliffoney found their best form in the final quarter but keeper Kyle Heverin made a few crucial saves to hold the lead for Craughwell until the final whistle. Elsewhere the U18 boys went 1-0 up away to Oughterard in the Championship League but conceded two second half goals to lose the match. The U15 girls also took the lead through Sara Craven at home to Corrib Celtic before ultimately losing 3-1 in their Premier League encounter.

There are only ten players remaining after week 4 of our Last Man Standing competition. Players will be notified by text for next weekend's fixtures.
