The Craughwell United U16 boys (pictured) advanced to the last sixteen of the Connacht Cup with a 3-1 win over Sligo side Arrow Harps last Sunday at Coleman Park. Jerry Boyle scored twice while Cathal Kelly got the third before a late second half reply by the away side. In other provincial matches, the U12A boys lost 4-0 at home to a very good Carrick Town side while the U12B boys lost narrowly 3-2 away to St Bernards in Abbeyknockmoy. Jack Donoghue and Conor Dillon were on target for United.

Elsewhere, the Craughwell junior men’s side made it two away wins on the spin with a 4-1 win over St Patricks in Caherlistrane. Alan Callanan opened the scoring from the penalty spot after strike partner Eoin Fahy was upended in the box. Soon after, a great ball by Josh MacFarlane put Fahy through to score United’s second. St Pat’s pulled a goal back on the half hour but Callanan scored his second with another penalty just before the break. Connor Dolan completed the scoring ten minutes after the resumption with a fine looping strike from outside the box.
