Club results up to weekend of 1-2 December   04/12/2018

Tom Hussey’s U12A girls kept their season motoring along nicely last Sunday after a 2-1 away win over Kilshanvey United with Ella Farrelly scoring both Craughwell goals. The U12 boys received a walkover from Hodson Bay in Athlone to move into the third round of the Connacht Shield.

The Craughwell United junior men made it five league wins in a row with a 4-2 defeat of Loughrea B last Sunday morning at Coleman Park. Jack Lally quickly opened the scoring with a strike from outside the box and striker Alan Callanan (pictured) then put United two up inside fifteen minutes. Loughrea pulled a goal back to leave it 2-1 at the break. Callanan scored two more to complete his third hatrick of the season before Loughrea replied with their second goal of the game. Best for Craughwell were the prolific Callanan, Jack Lally in midfield and keeper Kyle Heverin who made several fine saves to keep United in front.

On Saturday the U14 boys were beaten 5-0 in the third round of the Connacht Cup by Manor Rangers after making the long trip to Manorhamilton. The home side were a class apart both on and off the pitch with their generous hospitality. Elsewhere, the U15 boys lost on the road to a very strong Tuam Celtic side while the U16 boys defeated Moyne Villa B 11-5 in Headford. Alex Craven, Tomas Barlow, Jack Farrell and Lewis Ryan all scored twice while Jack Regan, Conor Hynes and Luke Clarke were also on the scoresheet for United.
