The Craughwell United junior men’s side continued their good run with a 5-2 home win over Bearna NaForbacha last Sunday at Coleman Park. In-form striker Alan Callanan notched a first half hatrick to give United a 3-1 lead at the break. Callanan has now scored eight goals in his last three starts. Captain Patrick Phillips scored from the penalty spot on the hour mark, then late on, Niall Callanan added United’s final goal before the away side completed the day’s scoring with a last minute reply. Craughwell are at home to Boyle Celtic at 2pm this coming Sunday in the second round of the Connacht Cup and all support is welcome.

Also on Sunday, the U16 boys were 5-0 winners over Tuam Celtic B. Lewis Ryan bagged a hatrick with Alex Craven and Conor Hynes also on target for United.

On Saturday, the U12A boys had a fine 2-1 away win over Athenry B with Cian Connaughton and Paddy Malone finding the net while the U14 boys maintained their top spot in League Division 1 with a 5-0 home win over Knocknacarra B. Man of the match Jamie Lyons (pictured) worked tirelessly up front and was rewarded with four goals while Jerry Boyle also scored for United.
