Club results up to weekend of 13-14 October   15/10/2018

The Craughwell United junior men’s side were 3-1 winners at home to Cregmore/Claregalway FC last Sunday morning at Coleman Park. The visitors competed well in the first half and enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the break but United responded with a strong second half performance to turn the game around. Eoin Fahy continued his fine scoring form with the equaliser on fifty minutes before he turned provider to set up Darragh Minogue for the lead goal ten minutes later. Minogue was replaced shortly after by Alan Callanan and the right winger wasted no time by scoring the third goal with a great strike to the bottom left corner.

Also on Sunday, the U16 boys lost 4-3 away to St Bernards with Conor Hynes, Lewis Ryan and Jack Farrell all on target for United while the U14 girls lost 2-0 at home to Moyne Villa in their League Cup first round clash.

On Saturday, the U14A boys made it three wins from three after a 5-2 home win over Moyne Villa. The visitors raced into a two goal lead early on but the Craughwell lads showed great character and got back into the game with goals from Jamie Lyons, Finn McCartney and Alex Duggan to lead 3 - 2 at half time. United soaked up a lot of pressure in the second half in very difficult conditions, but further goals from Duggan and a lovely individual goal Luke McInerney sealed the win.

Elsewhere all the U12 boys teams started their league campaigns with mixed fortunes. The U12A boys won 4-0 away to Galway Hibs B, the U12B boys lost 4-0 away to Kinvara United while the U12C boys won 3-2 away to Cregmore/Claregalway FC C.
