Club results from weekend of 27/28 January   29/01/2018

The U12A boys were 4-1 winners over Salthill Devon in their Premier League encounter last Saturday at Coleman Park. Great credit to both sides for playing entertaining soccer in tough conditions. The game started at a fast pace with United having the better of the early exchanges only for Devon to score a breakaway goal against the run of play. The away side applied most pressure for the remainder of the half but Craughwell were strong at the back to keep them out. Shane Murray selflessly took over the goalkeeping duties after the break when Cormac McFadden took a knock and had to come off.  Craughwell soon upped the pressure scoring four goals without reply, two from Conor Gilligan and two from Jamie Collins leading to a resounding victory. This win moves Craughwell to second place in a very competitive Premier League competition.

Our junior men’s team received a walkover from Kilshanvey United and go into the Lillis Cup semi-final against unbeaten league leaders NUIG B. That match is scheduled for a 2pm kick-off at Coleman Park on Saturday 17 February.

The U15 boys lost by the only goal of the game away to Cregmore-Claregalway FC while Jade Whelton scored twice for the U14 girls in their 2-1 home win over Colga B in their Championship Cup quarter-final clash.
