Club results from weekend of 4/5 November   07/11/2017

Last Saturday, the U14 girls were 5-1 winners over Moyne Villa B in Headford. Lucy Duggan kept up her recent scoring streak with a couple of goals while Jade Whelton, Aisling Whyte and Megan Gilligan were also on target for United. The U13A boys had a fine 4-1 win away to Cregmore Claregalway FC. Gerry Boyle and Alex Duggan got one a piece while man of the match Shane Murray scored two. The U12B boys made the trip to Riverstown in Sligo to take on Arrow Harps in round two of the Connacht Cup. Both sides traded plenty of goals and excitement before the home side eventually got on top to run out 8-5 winners. Eoghan Mulleady and Dara Zimmerer both scored twice and Colm Doyle got the other. Great effort by Alan Whelton’s side, made up in the most part by U11 players. At Coleman Park, the U14 boys were comfortable 8-2 winners over St Johns Athletic of Athlone in round one of the Connacht Shield.

On Sunday, the U18 boys had a fine 3-2 win over Salthill Devon in Drom with Ian McGlynn, Thomas Hynes and Barry Corcoran amongst the goals. Elsewhere, the U18 girls moved up to second in the Youth League with a 4-0 win away to Moyne Villa. Laura Cunningham raced through early on to score the opener, then scored two more second half goals when assisted each time by the irrepressible Shauna Tobin (pictured). Striker Shona O Kelly was also on target for United to complete the scoring. Craughwell built the win on solid defending by Beth Sullivan, Kate Craven and Amber Whelton while keeper Siobhan Creaven was in confident form all afternoon to keep a clean sheet.
