Craughwell United entered three U9 teams into the recent Mervue United blitz tournament, one in the Cup and two in the Shield competitions. There was strong opposition with teams from Galway, Limerick, Athlone and Mayo. All the boys were a credit to the club with great team efforts and some outstanding individual performances as well. After a very exciting and nerve racking semi-final one team made the shield tournament final. They gave their all but unfortunately came up short losing to Galway Hibs after extra time. 

Congratulations to Cian Connaughton (pictured) who won the Player of the Shield Tournament award. Well done to all the boys for their great effort and entertainment throughout the season. Many thanks to Karl Zimmerer, Brian Malone and John Woods for their help during the season.
