Club results from weekend of 26-27 March   29/03/2016

Last Saturday, the U12 boys development squad completed a great comeback when goals from Robert Urquhart, Cian Irwin and Niall Dillon completed a 3-2 home win over Galway Hibs. Later at Coleman Park the U15 boys (pictured) went two up on Tuam Celtic with goals from Evan Kelly and Darragh O'Connor. Tuam levelled very quickly in second half scoring from two corners but United went in front through O'Connor again. However, the away side found an equaliser in the final minutes to leave it at 3-3. Also on Saturday, the U13 boys went down 2-1 away to Knocknacarra in their Premier League encounter with Lewis Ryan on target for United.

The club performance of the weekend came in Mervue on Sunday when the U17 boys were 4-2 winners over Premier League rivals Mervue United. Eoin Fahy didn't have to wait long to celebrate his birthday when he put United in front in the opening minutes. Craughwell were looking to take advantage of the strong wind in the opening half and Jack Doran headed in a corner to put the visitors two up. Young Ryan Gallagher was causing the home side plenty of problems up front with his pace and clever movement throughout the first half, but it was Mervue who scored just before the break to bring them back into the game. Craughwell soaked up early second half pressure but it was another Doran header which extended Craughwell's lead before Mervue did score to reduce the deficit once again. Cillian Dolan replaced Gallagher in the second half and his power and workrate was keeping the home defence on the back foot before setting up Oisin Woodlock to score Craughwell's fourth goal and seal an impressive win.

Well done to Robbie Clarke who won last weekend's 50-50 Cash Draw in Cheevers. This Saturday night's draw takes place in Raftery's Bar with blue envelopes on sale in all the usual outlets.
